As is known, Article 20, paragraph one of the Insurance Agencies Regulation (“Sigorta Acenteleri Yönetmeliği”) states: “Technical personnel shall participate once every five years in a training program, the date and schedule of which will be announced in advance, in order to ensure the continuity of their professional qualifications, knowledge, and skills. In calculating the five-year period, the date of obtaining the SEGEM certificate or the renewal date shall be taken as the basis.” Paragraph three of the same Article further states: “The activities of technical personnel who have not completed the training within the prescribed period shall be suspended until such training is completed. Information regarding suspended technical personnel shall be forwarded to TOBB and TSB.”
Within this framework, the Insurance Training Center (SEGEM) has prepared a training program covering advanced insurance topics by branch, as well as subjects such as digital marketing, insurance law, and communication skills, and has opened applications as of June 2025.
Pursuant to the relevant legislation, intermediaries who obtained their certificates by participating in SEGEM’s Technical Personnel Qualification Exam in 2020 or earlier are required to renew their certificates by attending the said training organized in 2025. The renewal training totals 14 hours. The final application deadline is 15 December 2025, and the last date to complete/monitor the training is 22 December 2025. (Intermediaries who obtained their certificates by taking the Technical Personnel Qualification Exam in 2021 or later are not obliged to attend the renewal training, as their five-year period has not yet expired.)
